Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) are faced with a unique dilemma in that they need to remain on the cutting edge of knowledge transference with regard to their area of subject expertise (Arts, design, commerce, humanities, etc.); but also need to ensure that they adhere to best practices in Teaching and Learning. What takes precedent then, ensuring that course content remains relevant and current; or ensuring the pedagogical practices employed remains effective? And, why do PHEIs need to choose?
